On what we can and can’t

🚀 AI is here. It will take some jobs. We won’t stop that.
But how about we focus on what we can, rather than what we can’t change?

Let me tell you the story.

👟 It’s 1918 soon after WWI. Adi Dassler, a young man with a vision, watches nervously as his first and only employee, Josef “Sepp” Erhardt, climbs onto a makeshift, bicycle-powered leather mill. Amidst post-war chaos and scarcity,

🔌 Adi knew he couldn’t rely on modern machinery or electricity. He simply couldn’t afford it. Instead of feeling defeated, he turned his attention to what he did have.

🔧 “The wreckage of war could become a resource,” Adi thought. He scavenged nearby battlefields, collecting helmets, pouches, and parachutes to create something new. With sheer determination, Adi and Sepp transformed scraps of leather into the foundation for their innovative athletic shoes, using their pedal-powered mill.

“The damn thing works!”

💡 Adi exclaimed as Sepp pedaled faster and faster, the leather becoming softer and more workable. Together, they embraced their limitations and turned them into opportunities. They didn’t have reliable power, modern machinery, or access to capital – but they had each other, their vision, and the determination to succeed.

🌟 Little did they know, their resourcefulness would eventually give rise to one of the world’s most iconic sportswear brands: Adidas.

📦 So the next time you find yourself worrying about what you don’t have, remember Adi’s story and focus on the resources you do have. You never know what incredible things you might achieve.
